The Deep South Dance Team of Murkerson Dance Academy and Cheer Gym in Bainbridge swept away the competition in Panama City Beach at the Diamond Dance Gulf Coast Championship on Jan. 30.

The team performed five numbers and won first place on all five numbers.

The team was also the Grand Championship Bid recipients for their performance of their jazz number “Circus,” at the National Competition held May 1 in Charleston, S.C.

Jessie and Sarah Oliver competed solos, and both won first place in their age divisions.
