The sky didn’t fall and time didn’t stand still: This was the message that some of our so-called leaders said would happen if health care reform was passed.

Well none of these things happened, and everybody got up and went to school and went to work as usual.

I now understand why there has been so much drama about this issue all around the country and in the House and Senate. It has never been about health care reform at all, has it America?

All of this misplaced hatred and teapartying and rallies disguised as patriotism has been just plain old “racism.”

Now before all of you self-righteous bigots label me as some one using the race card to get a point across, listen.

As some one who was raise in small-town America “the South” and saw racism first-hand, I know that you don’t have to be a Rhodes Scholar or a Harvard scholar to know racism when you see it. All of this has raised its ugly head because Obama is a black man, so pull your heads out of the sand and admit the truth.

If George Bush had tried to push this same issue four years ago, no one, and I mean no one, would have cared. It would have been OK, let’s deal with it. This is a sad state of affairs that even though it’s 2010, there’s still this kind of hatred for another human being in this country.

The so-called “greatest country” in the world. We can’t get along with each other, how is it we’re always telling some other country how to deal with its people.

Wake up America, get over it, the man is the president. Let him do his job and if you don’t like it, well then in three years vote for another gray-haired old white man that will definitely bust the budget and put us all in soup lines and that’s when we’ll all be happy. Not!
