Colors in their prime

The fall colors on the Lake are in their prime. Rich deep reds and the hickory trees rust red, the gum trees red, the dogwoods rusty red, the china berry yellow, the ash, the willows, I guess no one will ever be able to describe the colors in words so see for yourself by boat trip from Bainbridge to the dam, or by car down Highway 97 to Hutchinson Ferry, two miles down it to Boosters Club Road then to the dam, it is a site to behold.

The youth waterfowl days are Nov. 15-16, the regular duck season is Nov. 22-30 and Dec. 6- Jan 25. Not much change in the bag limits except three wood ducks instead of two and no canvasbacks this year at all, don’t even think about it!

The Bainbridge Bass Club fished on Lake Eufalla with the following results: First went to Lance Whiddon, who had 6.15 pounds, second went to Richard Predmore with 6.04, third went to Joey Farris with 6.03 pounds. Big fish was 4 pounds. That is tough fish for a one-day catch.

The Big Bend Basss Club fished two days on Lake Seminole. First place went to Leon Roy V with 22.27, David Mock was second with 15.76, third place went to Eric Wells with 5.01, their Big fish was 5.01. Eddie Ditto was fifth, if third place was 5.01 Eddie must have caught two, iddy bitsy, tiny oncy ones to be in fifth; however, he redeemed hisself Sunday morning with a nice 7-pounder on a trap and four others on Carolina Rig.

Billy Willis took another big catfish on his floating jugs. The best fish of the week again goes to the crappie, they come in very good on minnows some boats with near twp limits (60). One boat had only 28, but they were all slabs and filled his cooler to the top.

We look for a hard cold winter this year so bring in your plants cover those you cain’t bring in.

Added note, “what ever happened to the fast food restaurants,” they are slow as cream risen on milk.
