It not only was it the “big story” for the national news outlets, but the souring economy trickled down to Decatur County and touched the lives of people we all perhaps know.

Are hopes are that the economy will be big news in 2009, but that it will be “good news,” particularly for those here in Decatur County who have suffered from a loss of a job.

James Butler’s Super Bowl win and then coming home to do good works made the news and sports lists. He deserves it.
