The Bearcats fell 0-3 to Westminster School in the third round of the GHSA 4A state playoffs. The loss ends Bainbridge’s season.
“I’m just so proud of them,” said Bearcats head coach Xavier Bell. “ There was growth from everybody. From first match to last match, I can definitely say that there’s been vast improvements everywhere in every position.”
The Bearcats made it to the quarterfinal round with a 3-1 win over Island High School on Tuesday, April 23.
Bainbridge entered the playoffs as Region 1-4A champions after a dominant regular season. The team didn’t drop a game against region opponents.
The team loses two seniors to graduation, Thomas Shockley and Pate Beckham. The rest of the team is relatively young, and No. 1 singles player Cullen Glover will be in his senior season next year.
