It was like old home day at the Saturday, May 30 Bainbridge High School Bearcat Football Booster Club Scramble Golf Tournament at Bainbridge Country Club.

Among the participants were former Bearcats head football coach Sonny Smart and former Hutto Middle School Tigers football coach Jimmy Harris who played with Bearcats head coach Ed Pilcher.

The game was played under a four person team scramble format with each player hitting their second shot from the spot of the longest drive.

The championship flight and first flight winners both shot outstanding rounds of 19-under-par 53. On the championship flight team were Woodie Warr, Julian Branche, David “Butch” Mosely and Jim Cox.

On the first flight winning team were Billy Grimsley, Robert Strickland, John Strickland and David Braykovich.

Pilcher said he appreciated all the coaches, former players and booster club members who turned out for the tournament.

“We had 21 teams, 10 in the championship flight and 11 in the first flight,” the Bearcats head coach said. “It was good to renew acquaintances with great guys like Sunny Smart and Jimmy Harris. We all had a lot of fun and raised some money for our football program.”
