Joyce Moore was born May 2, 1931 in Bainbridge, the daughter of Lee and Ila Gowan Moore. She was a graduate of Climax High School, Class of 1948. Joyce earned a bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and worked as a computer systems engineer for IBM, NCR, and retired from Broward County. She was Baptist by faith.

Joyce had a spirit of adventure. She was a licensed private pilot and member of the Boca Raton Civil Air Patrol. She was also an avid deepwater scuba diver with over 1000 certified dives under her belt. Joyce loved the Florida coast but diving took her around the world to places like the Red Sea in Egypt and the Galápagos Islands in the Pacific. Her underwater photos were simply amazing. Joyce also enjoyed wind surfing and gardening. She kept her yard and nurtured her fruit trees like a professional. In her later years, when her flying and diving trips were fewer, she began showing her dogs, which she loved dearly, in national and international dog shows. Joyce had a soft spot for all animals, even volunteering with the zoo to care for animals after hurricanes.

Survivors include her son, Foyed Rabon and his wife, Laura, of Bainbridge. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents.
