“It feels really good,” McGee said about the opportunity. “It’s a blessing from God.”

McGee said he liked the atmosphere on campus in Statesboro.

“Everyone just came together and it was like a big family,” McGee said. “We can relate, and they make you feel welcome and at home there.”

Georgia Southern finished the season 2-10 and has found a new head coach by promoting assistant Chad Lunsford. McGee said he is aware of the coaching changes and feels comfortable with where the program is heading.

At wide receiver, McGee racked up 617 career receiving yards and scored five touchdowns. He shined on defense, racking up 76 career tackles (45 17-18 season) and had six picks.

“I really loved what I saw when I went there,” said McGee’s mother, April. “It was a family atmosphere. Everything was in order. They answered the questions that I have, and voiced my concerns before I even asked.”

McGee plans to finish his school year at Bainbridge and enroll at Georgia Southern the second week of June.

Coach Jeff Littleton said he was excited McGee has the opportunity to continue his academic and athletic careers.
