Four of Bainbridge’s starters were in double figures scoring, two of whom had double-doubles. Nadia Marshall led the way with a fierce 22 points, 11 rebounds and five assists. She also added three steals to her stat line.

Behind her was Tytianna Roseborough with 16 points, six rebounds. and seven assists. India Parris poured in 14 points and snagged 10 rebounds and Tyra Smart added another 10 points and had six rebounds.

“We scored the ball at a high level inside and outside,” Cochran said.

He couldn’t say the same for how the game against Lowndes started out. The Lady Cats got off to a slow start and found themselves down 8-1.

“We struggled from the jump,” Cochran said. “We came out a little flat and they jumped on us. Our starting five were choking. Four of my starters had two fouls each in the first half.”

Eventually the Lady Cats would settle down. Strong defensive play kept Lowndes from getting away with the score, and Bainbridge finally pulled into the lead with 1:45 left I the game.

Marshall had another lights-out game. She poured in 22 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and had three steals. Roseborough also had a great night with 12 points, four rebounds and four steals.

Cochran said he was looking forward to a strong season.

“We had a great summer, we had a whole off season so everybody worked to get better,” Cochran said. “They went 26-5 over the summer. Our depth is so much better. Our starters have gotten better but also our depth has gotten better.”

Bainbridge played Florida A&M High School Friday night and will play Godby on Saturday. Their first home game will be Tuesday, Nov. 28, against Colquitt County.
