Irene Bennett Bramblett, 81, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Friday, September 25, 2015 at her residence.

The memorial service was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 28, 2015 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jorge Quintiana officiating. Interment will follow at Plowman Cemetery in Apison, Tenn. at a later date. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Mrs. Bramblett was born December 31, 1933 in Chattanooga, Tennessee the daughter of James Ralph Bennett and Willie Frances Howard. She was the Salutatorian of Ooltewah, Tenn. High School, Class of 1952. She later became the Chief of the Tri-Community Ambulance Service. She was proud to be a first in the field.

Mrs. Bramblett was a people person that loved life; if she didn’t know you, she would before you left. Her great sense of humor and thoughtfulness drew people to her wherever she was but especially at Memorial Hospital and the Gilbert H. Gragg Library.

Survivors include her daughters, Laura Hawk of Bainbridge, Ga., Linda Scoggins of Chattanooga, Lorine Dean and her husband Larry of Chatsworth, Ga., Lisa Boyd and her husband Terry of Vada, Ga.; her grandchildren, Lewie Scoggins, Jamie Mertens, Zach Scoggins, Matt Scoggins, Cody Boyd, Shane Hawk, Beau Hawk, Dalton Boyd, Morgan Bailey, Ty Boyd, and Jud Boyd; and her seven great-grandchildren, Braden Scoggins, Ashton Scoggins, Dallas Boyd, Aleigha Hawkins, Aubrey Boyd, Waylon Boyd, and Atlas Scoggins.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy E. Bramblett and her brother, Robert Bennett.
