Coach Larry Cosby’s Bainbridge High School Bearcats finished third behind the Lincoln High School Trojans from Tallahassee and the Lowndes County High School Vikings and coach Tandria Phillips Lady Cats finished eighth in strong field’s at Saturday’s annual Doctor Larry Clark Invitational Track Meet at the Bainbridge High School track.
The meet is held annually in honor of Doctor Larry Clark, principal of Jones-Wheat Elementary School, who built the Bainbridge High School track program to one of the top programs in the state.
Elijah Tyler of the Bearcats finished ninth in the 100-meter dash in a time of 11.42 and his teammate Shawn Herring was eleventh in a time of 11.44. Bearcat Dalvin Spivey was 30th in the 100-meter dash in a time of 12.04.
In the boys 1600-meter run, Bearcat Chase Harris was third in the 4:47.79, Bearcat Perry Waddell was thirteenth in a time of 5:31.52, Bearcat David Brock was 27th in a time of 5:38.17 and Bearcat Colby Nick was 31st in a time of 5:49.66.
In the 800-meter run Bearcat Leonard Poncherella was fourth in a time of 2:04.70 and Bearcat Lorenzo Mitchell was tenth in a time of 2:13.96. Bearccat Dondre Lewis was 24th in a time if 22:26.33.
In the 200-meter dash Bearcat Shawn Herring was 10th in a time of 23.65, Bearcat Derrell Dukes was 11th in a time of 23.74 and Bearcat Dameon Pierce was 16th in a time of 24.00. Bearcat Zyon McGee was 26th in a time of 24.35 and Bearcat Tony Hurst was 37th in a time of 26.52.
In the 400-meter dash Bearcat Lorenzo Mitchell was eighth in a time of 52.86, Bearcat Leonard Poncherella was 18th in a time of 54:19, and Bearcat J’arvis Freeman was 34th in a time of 1:00.12.
In the shot put Bearcat Chares Hightowner was ninth with a heave of 39-feet-11.5-inches, Trevon Shaw was 13th with a heave of 37-feet-10-inches and Bearcat Edward Lewis was 19th with a heave of 33-feet-1.5-inches.
In the girls 100 meter dash, Lady Cat Tyisha Gant was 15th with a time of 13.29, and Lady Cat Jonasia Kendrick was 35th with a time of 15.35.
In the girls 1600-meter run, Lady Cat Uriyah Davis was fourth in a time of 6:03.26, Lady Cat Camry Fillingame was 16th in a time of 6:50.50, Lady Cat Skye Walden was 20th in a time of 7:03.88, and Lady Cat Aileen Mejia was 21st in a time of 7:05.51.
In the girls 3200-meter run Lady Cat Uriyah Davis was sixth in a time of 14:21.64, Lady Cat Aida Diaz was seventh in a time of 14:40.25, Camry Fillingame was 12th in a time of 15:15.41, Lady Cat Aileen Mejia was 15th in a time of 16:05.96 and Lady Cat Skye Walden was 18th in a time of 17:01.44.
In the girls 300-meter hurdles Lady Cat Amaia Taylor was 15th in a time of 56.59. In the girls triple jump, Lady Cat Amari Smith was 14th in a time of 27:01.25. In the girls shot put Lady Cat Asia Gordan was seventh with a heave of 30-feet-9.5-inches. Lady Cat Alexis Hightower was 17th with a heave of 26-feet-5.25-inches, and Quadassia Dukes was 18th with a heave of 26-feet-4.50-inches and Lady Cat Amaris Smith was 21st with a time of 25-feet-11-inches.
