Special to The Post-Searchlight

The Alltel Wireless retail store in Bainbridge is encouraging the community to help others as it hosts a toy drive this holiday season for “Toys for Tots.” The store, located at 1408 Tallahassee Highway, will act as a drop-off location through Dec. 14.

The Toys for Tots program began in 1947 and is an annual program conducted by the U.S. Marine Corps to collect new toys for needy kids across the country. To participate, simply go to the Alltel Wireless retail store in Bainbridge, and donate new, unwrapped toys, no matter the number. The store is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.

“Giving back to communities like Bainbridge where our customers and employees live and work has always been important to Alltel Wireless,” said Jack Luciani, vice president general manager for Alltel Wireless. “The toy donations will aid the Marine Corps in their tireless charitable endeavor to provide gifts to children during the holidays. We are happy to play a part in making the holiday season a little brighter for some of our less fortunate neighbors. It is our hope that more people will contribute toys if there are more convenient drop-off locations.”
