Swine Time run is Saturday

The annual Swine Time Festival Run will begin Saturday, at 8:30 a.m.

The 5,000-kilometer (3.1-mile) course, which is mostly flat but will have one hill on the return trip, will begin and end at the 38th annual Swine Time Festival grounds, on New Street in Climax.

Run-day registration, which gets under way at 7:30 a.m., is $18.

Trophies will be given to the top overall male and female finishers. Awards will also go to the top two finishers in each age group. There will be no duplication of awards.
Male and female age groups include 13-and-under, 14-to-19 and 20-to-29. Other age groups are 30-to-39, 40-to-49, 50-to-59, 60-to-69 and 70-and-over.

Special awards will be presented to participating students from Decatur County and Grady County schools, and Bainbridge College.

Each run participant will receive a T-shirt and a bottle of cane syrup, depending on availability.
