We commend our Bainbridge High School Bearcats and Lady Cats basketball teams on their outstanding runs the past two seasons and urge everyone to come out and cheer them on at the Region 1AAAA Tournament Tuesday, Feb. 15 through Friday, Feb. 19 at the BHS gymnasium.

Two years ago, both teams won the Region 1AAAA championship and made the State Class AAAA Final Four. Last year the Bearcats, repeated the accomplishments.

Success in sports or anything else starts with strong leadership and our two head coaches are at the top of their profession.

Before coming to Bainbridge, Bearcats Coach Rickey McCullough, who last year was inducted into the Florida Association of Basketball Coaches (FABC) Court of Legends Hall of Fame, spent 26 years as head coach at Chipley, Fla., High School, where he had an outstanding 599-229 record.

Lady Cats Coach Latreisha Moon was an All-American with Alabama A&M University in Normal, Ala., where she led the nation in rebounding with 17 per game as a senior in 1998.
