Calling all residents, Landowners, Anglers and Farmers of Donalsonville and Seminole County Georgia to a town hall-style meeting on Thursday, Sept 19th at The Osceola Event Company on Second Street in downtown Donalsonville from 6:30-7:30 pm. This event is hosted by StandUpBainbridgeGA.com.
The purpose of the evening is to create awareness, educate and focus specifically on the dangerous pathogens that could be introduced into our shared waterways originating in the Flint River within a mile of the proposed facility. The facility which would raise monkeys for future medical testing, would have the capacity to hold 30,000 non-human primates – twice the population of Bainbridge. It would generate massive amounts of biological waste on a scale never seen in the U.S. According to Safer Human Medicine (SHM) at full capacity, the facility would generate 444,000 gallons of wastewater a day.
Subject Matter experts will speak and have brief Q&A. Topics to be addressed include: Danger to shared waterways, Soil Pathogens, dangers to livestock, impact to real estate investment and legal updates.
The citizens of Decatur County have been fighting this proposed facility since December 2023. The fight is far from over and there are many active ongoing lawsuits in place to stop the proposed facility.
All Citizens welcome!
