With school over, parents may find themselves looking for something to keep their kids occupied for a while during the break. While some may go on vacation, and others find themselves in summer school, some local kids participate in the Oscar Jackson Outdoor Camp, which began on Monday.

Hosted by the City of Bainbridge, the camp last four weeks, two in June and two in July. According to the camp program manager Randee Eubanks, this year’s camp is already completely full, with registration having ended some time ago.

So far, the campers have visited Taurus’s gun range (supervised by Bainbridge Public Safety), as well as gone fishing in the camp’s stocked pond, and taken a kayaking trip at the Boat Basin. Other activities on the agenda for the coming days include visits to Wakulla Springs, Chason Park, and the Firehouse Art gallery, as well as trying their hands at disc golf on the city’s new course.
