“First Port City Bank is delighted to announce a significant contribution of $110,000 to Memorial Hospital & Manor through the Georgia HEART program. This contribution represents our commitment to supporting and enhancing the health and well-being of our community,” said Scott Ewing, President & CEO of First Port City Bank.
“We are overwhelmed by the generous contribution from First Port City Bank and their continuous commitment to increase the amount they provide each year to support our hospital and community,” said Jim Lambert, CEO of Memorial Hospital and Manor. “These funds directly impact our ability to improve our facilities and services to the residents of Decatur and surrounding counties.”
The State of Georgia uniquely empowers its citizens with the opportunity to pay their state income taxes – an expenditure that they are required to make anyway – through contributing to eligible rural hospitals to improve the financial condition and patient offerings. All Georgia citizens have the ability, through HEART, to decide how their tax dollars are spent. Georgia taxpayers receive a state income tax CREDIT for 100% of the amount they contribute. C Corporations, Trusts, or Pass-Throughs electing to pay tax at the entity level may contribute up to 75% of their annual tax liability. Interested taxpayers can secure their credit by submitting a 2024 HEART tax credit application at www.georgiaheart.org. Once you contribute, Georgia HEART will provide you with the appropriate tax receipt for claiming the credit on your 2024 Georgia income tax return. Submit your 2024 HEART tax credit application today, as credits are limited. If you have questions, please contact Jamie Sinko at JamieS@mh-m.org or (229) 243-6115.
