Steven Marvin Rentz, age 78, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, in Tallahassee, Florida.  Services for Mr. Rentz will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cadwell Chapel of Cox-Ivey Funeral Home. Rev. Chris Humphries will officiate.  Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Jamie Elkins, Jim Rentz, Darrin Singleton, Kevin Rentz, Greg Donley, and Brad Ward. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 16, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

    Steven Marvin Rentz was born in Bainbridge, Georgia on October 4, 1945 to Marvin Rentz and Doris Davis Rentz.  Steve was a farmer who loved to be on the farm more than anything.  Farming was his work and his hobby.  Steve was, also, the owner/operator of Rentz Transport.   He was a kind, humble, “people” person who never held a grudge. He was very much a family man and loved spending time with his family. Steve loved good old southern cooking and enjoyed cars and trucks and could tell you everything about them.  He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he was a retired deacon.   Steve will be dearly missed by the family he adored and his many, many friends.

     Steven Marvin Rentz is survived by his wife, Patricia Peace Rentz, his son, Danny Bruce Rentz (Candace) of Bainbridge, his grandchildren, Hunter Rentz (Victoria) of Tallahassee, Florida, Ashton Birdsong (Mason) and Tyler Rentz (Maitlyn) both of Bainbridge.  He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Athena Rentz and Kohen Rentz as well as one great-grandchild on the way, Brooks Birdsong.  Steve is survived by his siblings, Dennis Bruce Rentz (Karla) and Gary Rentz both of Bainbridge as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  Mr. Rentz was predeceased by his parents, Doris and Marvin Rentz, his brother, Don Rentz, and his son, Steven Gregory (Greg) Rentz.
