Mr. Hugh (Scott) McStay-Harrison, age 45, passed away Friday, May 17, 2024, in Bainbridge, Georgia. A private, family service will be held.
Hugh (Scott) McStay- Harrison was born November 5, 1978, in Columbia, South Carolina to Hugh Francis McStay and Karen Cox McStay. Scott was an avid Georgia fan. He loved the water and swim team was a huge part of his being. He swam as a team member for years and then coached and taught swim lessons. Scott had a Masters degree in Criminal Justice. He was extremely smart and known for his wittiness and artistic abilities. He enjoyed theater. Everyone that knew him fell in love with him. Scott married Justin McStay- Harrison.
He was a “mama’s boy” that adored his own two sons. He was a great dad. Scott will always be remembered by his family and the many friends he loved so very much, truly missed and forever loved.
Hugh McStay- Harrison is survived by his husband of nine years, Justin McStay-Harrison; sons, Augustus and Simon all of Bainbridge; parents, Hugh (Bud) and Karen McStay of Bainbridge; siblings, Heather McStay (Jackie Hall) of Tallahassee, Florida, Holly Paul (Chris) of Denham Springs, Louisiana, Elizabeth McStay of Bainbridge, Erin Williams (Randy) of Colquitt, Georgia, his in-laws, John Harrison of Blairsville, Georgia and Teresa Dodson of Colquitt, Georgia, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hugh and Audrey Elizabeth McStay and Ret. Col. James Allen Cox and Sally Perry Cox.
