Janice Diana Turner Harrell, age 64, of Donalsonville, Georgia, died very unexpectedly on Thursday, February 1, 2024.  Services for Mrs. Harrell will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024, 11:00 a.m., at the Cadwell Chapel of Ivey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends, 5:00 until 7:00, Friday, February 9, 2024, at the funeral home.  She will be privately interred in Spring Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Janice Diana Hodges was born January 12, 1960 in Phenix City, Alabama to Billy Joe Hodges and Eleanor Jean Dauphin Hodges.  Janice married Jackie Smith Turner, who has preceded her in death.  She and Jackie raised two wonderful sons who were the light of her world.   She was a wonderful, loving mother.  Janice was blessed to ‘nanny’ her grandchildren.  Having a hand in their upbringing was a blessing for Janice and the children.  Janice had a tender heart and giving soul; she was meek but strong-willed.  She, a long-time member of Connection Church, loved God and lived a Christian life daily.  Last year she married Mr. Durwin Harrell.  The family and friends of this dear lady are devastated by their loss.  She will be deeply missed by her many, many friends.  Our loss is certainly Heaven’s gain.

Janice is survived by her husband, Durwin Harrell of Bainbridge; children, Stacey Hodges (Julie) of Lakeland, Georgia and Tracey Hodges (Jennifer) of Donalsonville, Georgia; grandchildren, Tyler Hodges, Nicholas Hodges, Hunter Hodges, Brayden Hodges, Abby Hodges, Jordan Haskins, and Dylan Haskins; brother, Billy Hodges (Man)  of Bainbridge; sister, Mary Jean Parrish (Wendell) of Thomasville, Georgia; nieces, Wendy Meredith (Jake) and Brandy Avanesian; stepchildren, D. J. (Cierra) Harrell, Lela Harrell, and Devin (Melodie) and children, Dawsen, Emersen, and Aiden.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Eleanor and Billy Jo Hodges and husband, Jack Turner.
