My name is Crycynthia Gardner, I am a native of Bainbridge, GA. I currently serve as Director of Induction & Evaluation Programs and Family Engagement Coordinator for Decatur County Schools. Before my current role, I served as a paraprofessional at Jones Wheat Elementary, teacher Lillian E Williams (LEW) and Hutto Middle School (HMS), assistant principal at HMS, and principal HMS/HES.

I am a proud graduate of Bainbridge High School (BHS) class of 1987. I was a nontraditional student, I worked at Amoco/American Yarns & Fibers during the day and took evening classes at Bainbridge College to earn my Associate of Arts in Early Childhood Education. I graduated from Albany State with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. I obtained a Master of Science in Curriculum & Instruction, an Education Specialist in Curriculum & Management, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. I know that knowledge isn’t knowledge until it’s shared. I enjoy coaching new teachers, working with teacher leaders, and supporting Decatur County parents and families.

My family has supported and encouraged me to be my best. I was married to the late Rev. John L. Gardner, and together we raised 3 sons, Carlos, Tyrone, and John, Jr., and proudly claimed grandparents’ status Papa John and Memaw to Carlos II (7) and Carrington (3).

My community is important to me. I am a proud graduate of Leadership Decatur County, and I was recognized as a Women to Watch. I am humbled to serve as a charter member of Port City Toastmasters, I am a Rotarian, and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.. I understand God has gifted everyone with abilities to be used for his glory; therefore, I serve on the Family Connection Board, Primary Care Board, and BASF Community Advisory Board. Also, I promote local community events like the Alzheimer’s Walk, Breast Cancer Awareness, and River Town Days. I believe mentorship paves the way to a successful thriving community, I support Decatur County Youth Advocacy Safety Committee and Youth Leadership Decatur County.

My favorite quote is “Tell me, and I’ll forget. Show me, and I’ll remember. Involve me, and I’ll learn.” I attend Mt. Moriah II M.B. Church in Attapulgus, and I enjoy reading, painting, and listening to gospel/jazz music.
