Last month kicked off the 2024 Legislative Session, and I am proud to be back at work under the Gold Dome representing the people of the 11th Senate District. Through the several Senate committees I sit on, the progress being made alongside my colleagues from both sides of the aisle as we discuss each individual piece of legislation with aims continue to improve the lives of each and every hardworking Georgian and their loved ones.
We’ve wrapped up the third and fourth weeks of the Second Session of the 157th Georgia General Assembly with another productive and busy week, during which the Georgia Senate has continued its work toward enhancing legislation regarding education, local government and zoning, transportation, Public-School Employee retirement and more.
As this session builds its forward momentum, I am focused on continuing my work across various Senate Committees, including those centered on legislation regarding Agriculture and Consumer Affairs; Economic Development and Tourism; Government Oversight; State and Local Governmental Operations; and Appropriations.
The committee process brings forth a range of legislation that aims to generate positive change across our state, and I am motivated by the hard work that has already been completed and the projects that are currently underway or yet to come.
I’d also like to again extend my invitation to students between the ages of 12 and 18 to serve in our Capitol Page Program. Any students interested in the legislative process who want to spend a day at our Capitol to apply for our program using this link.
As the session progresses, please don’t hesitate to reach out to my office if you have any questions regarding legislative matters.
