Teams of golfers braved the chilly winter weather over the weekend to earn money for a good cause, with the Bainbridge Country Club hosting the Salvation Army’s Grinch Golf tournament. Sixty-four players divided into teams of four in an all-day scramble. The winning team, with a score of 56, included Tom Barlow, Danny Anderson, Tony Fabian and Lee Kuhlo. Rob McRae, Benjamin Brooks, and Micah and Wyatt Elkins came in second place, with a score of 57.

Ultimately, the event raised $1,300 for the Salvation Army. According to director Merreann McDonald, the money will go to help finish Army’s Angel Tree program. “They all had a really good time, and we’re just very appreciative that they do it,” McDonald said. The Salvation Army will be handing out donations to the Angel Tree kids this Thursday, beginning at 10:00 AM.
