Bainbridge Little Theatre is proud to present The Best Christmas Pageant Ever! This Christmas classic is written by Barbara Robinson; A Samuel French, Inc. TITL. This show follows the outrageous shenanigans of the Herdman siblings, or “the worst kids in the history of the world.” The siblings take over the annual Christmas pageant in a hilarious yet heartwarming tale involving the Three Wise Men, a ham, scared shepherds, and six rowdy kids. 

Ralph, Imogene, Leroy, Claude, Ollie, and Gladys Herdman are an awful bunch. They set fire to Fred Shoemaker’s toolshed, blackmailed Wanda Pierce to get her charm bracelet, and smacked Alice Wendelken across the head. And that’s just the start! When the Herdmans show up at church for the free snacks and suddenly take over the Christmas pageant, the other kids are shocked. It’s obvious that they’re up to no good. But Christmas magic is all around and the Herdmans, who have never heard the Christmas story before, start to reimagine it in their own way.

“As a teacher, this story holds a special place in my heart.  It introduces a family of misfits who are prejudged and no one believes in them. They take their rag tag antics a little to the extreme, but in the end, everyone learns valuable lessons. This is a story that will have you laughing and crying. The cast worked very hard and came together as a team to create our cute, hilarious rendition of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever ” stated Wes Chapman. There are many who will be taking the stage for the first time alongside some veterans. The stage manager, Krysti Ramer, shared that “It was important to me to give the kids in our community a chance in the spotlight. It’s so sweet to see our veterans now sharing the stage with their own kids. This is what it’s all about; community and family”.
