Ruby Ethel Spradlin, age 101, passed away Friday, October 20,2023, at Camellia Gardens of Life in Thomasville, Georgia. Services for Mrs. Spradlin will be held Tuesday, October 24, 11:00 a.m., at the Church of Christ in Cairo, Georgia. A private interment will be held in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, being at 10:00.

Ruby Ethel Spradlin was born March 14, 1922, in Graham, Virginia to William Harvey Osborne and Omey Bertha Mae Caudill Osborne. She was a talented seamstress and loved to make quilts. Ruby believed in the adage that an apple a day keeps the doctor away and ate an apple every single day. She loved chocolate, especially Tootsie Rolls. She was a stern but loving mother. At the age of 65, her youngest son taught her to drive. She drove well into her 90’s. Ruby loved to attend church and was a member of the Church of Christ in Cairo. Her family described her as a faithful Christian soldier. She deeply loved her family and will missed.

Ruby Spradlin is survived by four sons, Steve Osborne (Tam) of Jacksonville, Florida, Russell Yates (Alicia) of Cairo, Hercules Barber of Thomasville, and Sam Barber (Tammy) of Cairo; siblings, John Booth of Crawfordville, Florida and Wanda Mudd of Maryland; seven grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jack Spradlin, and ten siblings.
