Mrs. Sarah Helen Cook Dunlap, age 89, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at Bainbridge Health and Rehab in Bainbridge, Georgia.  Graveside services for Mrs. Dunlap will be held on Saturday, October 14, at 11:00 a.m. at Eldorendo Baptist Church Cemetery.  The Rev. Kenneth Cloud will officiate. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Sarah Helen Cook was born on December 17, 1933 in Bascom, Florida to Harvey Jackson Cook and Nadine Herrington Cook.  She married the love of her life, Dover Cleveland Dunlap, and they were married for almost 50 years before his death.  Helen worked many years as a seamstress at Jack Winter Company.  She sold Electrolux Vacuum Cleaners and later worked as a Night Auditor for the Charter House Inn.  Helen was an active member of the V.F.W Post 4904 Women’s Auxiliary.  She was of the Baptist faith and played the piano for years at Eldorendo Baptist Church.  She loved to fish and never met a stranger.  For the past three years, Helen has been a resident of Bainbridge Health and Rehab.  She loved being there and called it her home.  Helen loved and was so immensely proud of her children,  grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.  She will be deeply missed by her family and many, many friends.            

Helen Dunlap is survived by her children, Betty and Paul Schauber of Ocala, Florida, Gene and Clair Dunlap of Bainbridge, Randy and Jan Dunlap of Baker County, Georgia, and Fay and Tommy Daniel of Colquitt, Georgia; grandchildren, Paul Schauber, III (Jennifer) of Cumberland, Maine, Mark Dunlap (Angie) of Bogart, Georgia, Nikki Thomas (Brian) of Pooler, Georgia, Daniel Dunlap (Emily) of Atlanta, Georgia, Bryan Dunlap (Ashley) of Ocala, Florida, Brittany Spiering (Mark) of North Plains, Oregon, Sara Hodges of Newburgh , New York, Beth Heard (Chase) of Baker County, Georgia, Yuri Dunlap of Baker County, Georgia, Melissa Cannon (Robbie) of Valdosta, Georgia; 19 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Joyce Ann Dunlap, grandson, Dustin Cannon, as well as her twin sister, Ellen Elam, sister, Annie Ruth Davis, and brother, Howard Cook.
