Chirl Jenkins Phillips, 78, of Bainbridge, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2023. 

The family will hold a memorial service at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 1, 2023, at DK Diesel & Tire. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Chirl Kay Jenkins was born November 16, 1944, in Brinson, Ga., the daughter of Luther & Annie Pearl Cross Jenkins. After high school, she earned her LPN and retired with 30+ years at Memorial Hospital. Chirl was Pentecostal by faith.

Known for her feisty spirit and heart of gold, Chirl knew from early on she was on this earth to love people. She held no hatred in her heart and made everyone she met feel like one of hers. Chirl’s patients testified to her hard work and selfless care whether they needed a band-aid or long-term care. She enjoyed working in her yard and nurturing her flowers to bloom. Chirl’s family and friends will think of her every time they see a yellow rose.

Survivors include her children, Peresia K. Haire, Pam Faye West (Wendell), Richard Neal Ingram, and Paula Louise Kirk (Dean) all of Bainbridge; her grandchildren, Wyndell Jr. & Calla, Nikki & Justin, Trampus “Bubba” & Julie, Anya & Sixto, Dallas & Summer, Coty & Nikki, Vince & Kary, Buck, and Samantha & Andrew; her great-grandchildren, Madison, Makenna, Landon, Kaylee, Mallarie, Cassy, Cassidy, Macie, Gage, Dylan, Harley, Braxton, Bryson, Maverick, Peyton, Tanen, Kendlyn, Tucker, Micah, Hadley, Calie, Kelsey, Abby, Mason and Bella; her great-great-grandchildren, Emerson and Gracelyn; and her siblings, Teresa Smith (Steve) of Donalsonville, and Bobby Jenkins (Christine) of Albany. In addition to her parents, Chirl was preceded in death by her husband, Walter R. Phillips; her siblings, Elmer Jenkins, Billy Wayne Jenkins, and Louise Califf; and her son-in-law, Joey Haire.

The Phillips Family extends sincere gratitude to Gentiva Hospice, especially Georgia, Alicia, Whitney, and Dr. Phil, and Dr. Dave Phillips for their compassionate care.
