Gerald Duane Floyd was born August 10, 1973, in Bainbridge, Ga., the son of Gary & Diane Miller Floyd. He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1991, and a partner in PDG Construction prior to his retirement. Duane was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

Known to many as a workaholic, Duane was always busy doing something. In his mind, there was always something to work on, build, repair, or “fool with” in general. His tractor rarely got a rest as he made sure the yard was in order. Duane enjoyed hunting and fishing on his days off but his favorite activity was spoiling his grandchildren.

Survivors include his children, Alyssa & Austin Ellis and Drew Floyd; his grandchildren, Bryson, Grace & Macy; and his brother, Ashby “Pudge” Floyd and his wife, Nita. Duane was preceded in death by his parents.

Bryant Funeral Home, located at 105 N. Florida Street, is assisting the family with arrangements. (229-246-3321)
