Stacey Hill Cumbie was born November 20, 1974, in Bainbridge, Ga., the son of Marcus Hill Cumbie and Kathi Brock Cumbie Thorpe. He attended Bainbridge High School and worked as a truck driver for Eli Trucking. Stacey was a member of Salem Baptist Church.

His personality, by definition, would be “strong willed”; his family and friends noted it as “the best way was Stacey’s way”. Stacey didn’t mind trying something a little different if you could persevere long enough to convince him it was his idea. Stacey loved music and played guitar, mandolin, and piano. He shared his talent with others as pianist and bass player for “God’s Chosen”. Gathering around the table, especially if he did the grilling, was Stacey’s way of sharing love.

Survivors include his children, Stephen Cumbie of St. Augustine, Fla., Sage Cumbie of Bainbridge, and Savannah Cumbie of Tallassee, Ala.; his grandchild, Pepper; his parents, Marcus Cumbie and Kathi Brock Thorpe & Donald; his siblings, Chris Cumbie and Jamie Thorpe; his dog, Bella; and a host of extended family. Stacey was preceded in death by his sister, Katrina Griffith; and his grandparents, O’Neal & Doris Cumbie and Eugene & Verlyn Brock.
