The Decatur County Commissioners met Tuesday morning for their first meeting of the month. After the approval of the agenda and minutes from the last meeting, the commissioners entered a public hearing regarding the budget for the fiscal year 2023-24. No members of the public stepped forward to address the matter.

Next, the commissioners considered approval for the previously discussed timber harvesting ordinance, which they did approve. The commissioners then considered an application for an alcoholic beverage license, submitted by Jill Hurst for her new restaurant, Jill’s Hometown Cafe. The commissioners also approved this. Lastly, the commissioners considered approval for surplussing a pair of sheriff’s office vehicles, which they approved.

After the commissioner’s remarks, the meeting adjourned.
