On Tuesday, members of the Bainbridge Rotary Club, rather than their usual lunch meeting, met at the Board of Education cafeteria to pack lunches for students in need. Items packed in the bags included cans of Campbell’s soup, ramen noodles, instant grits, applesauce and granola bars.

This marks the second time the Rotary club has helped with this program, having previously helped in November of last year. All meals packed are free.

In a previous interview, Stephanie Poitevint, Decatur County school psychologist, explained how the program works. “Any student that is referred by their classroom teacher, or a parent can reach out to their school counselor or administrator for referral. They fill out a form, and the parent has to give consent for the program.”
