Last Tuesday, a Bearcat took the next big step in both their education and sports career. KJ Cochran, son of coach Kelvin Cochran, signed with Savannah State, having been offered a full ride.

KJ has played on the BHS basketball team all throughout high school, even playing with an injury his freshman year, an injury which sidelined him for his sophomore season. When asked what drew him to Savannah State, he stated it was both the atmosphere of the campus, as well as the energy the school’s coaches brought.

“I just wanna say it’s a blessing,” said Coach Cochran in an interview.

“I just wanna thank God, and my family and friends,” KJ told the Post-Searchlight. “I just wanna thank Savannah State for the opportunity.”
