Leadership Decatur County graduates recognized at country club

Participants in the Leadership Decatur County program gathered at the Bainbridge Country Club last Tuesday evening for their graduation ceremony. This year saw 25 graduate from the program. In an official statement, Leadership Decatur County is described as “designed to provide established leaders a foundation for a commitment to effective leadership in our community.” Participants in the program attend multiple sessions that allow them to interact with established leaders in the community. “Qualified applicants will have demonstrated leadership capabilities in the public or private sector and show a motivation to contribute even further to the Bainbridge-Decatur County community,” the statement read. This year’s graduating class included: Courtney Chavers, Katie Trice Kelley, John Wells, Rolie Hancock, Tyler Giles , Chandler Ray, Jennifer Britt, Jennifer Ray, Jamie Sinko, Josh Apke, Dennis Gallant, Heath Layton, Hunter Bulger, Ansley Renfro, Chris Merrit , Spencer Thomas, Tim Spooner, Kacee Holt, Jennifer Buckner, Lee Merchant, Kyle Staples, Lee Hatcher, Miles Norman, Hehle Cole, and. Tanner Harrell. This year’s program chair, Bert Hines, spoke with the Post-Searchlight about the program. “I graduated from the program in 2018,” he said, “and I always looked back and thought it was a great experience for leaders in our county.” He concluded saying he looked forward to what the graduates would accomplish.
