Bearcat Seniors honored at Senior Night, defeat Baldwin in playoffs

The BHS Varsity baseball team faced off against the Liberty County Bulldogs last Friday in a non-conference home game. Friday was also senior night, with seniors Koby Wynn, Bricen Palmer, Bolton Yarbrough, Kagen Castro, Chase Parker, Bo Smith, Chris Cooper, Owen Richard, and Logan Rich being recognized.

Following the senior’s recognition, the game began in earnest. Over the course of the game, Wynn scored one run; Yarbrough had a hit; Parker had two hits and one run; Smith scored three runs and three hits; Richard had a hit and scored once; and Rich had two hits of his own.

On the pitcher’s mound, Wynn pitched four innings, striking out 6, while Kagen Castro pitched three innings with three strikeouts.

Ultimately, the Bearcats won the game, 6-0. They would go on to play against the Baldwin Braves in a doubleheader for the first round of playoffs on Monday afternoon, with BHS sweeping both games, winning 16-1 and 17-3. The second round of playoffs is scheduled for this Saturday at BHS.
