First National Bank is preparing for next month’s Women in the Workforce luncheon. According to Senior Vice President Lorenda Smith, while the luncheon will still feature a panel of local women, the event’s featured speaker this time will be Vera Stewart. Stewart is a renowned entrepreneur from around Augusta.

According to Smith, she first heard Stewart speak at “Women in Banking” conference at Chateau Elan, in Braselton, Georgia. Stewart got her start in the food industry with catering, progressing to operating her own cafe and bakery, and even had the opportunity to have her own cooking show after winning “Throwdown with Bobby Flay.”

“We are so excited to once again offer this event to our community,” Smith said. She made sure to reiterate the official goal of First National Bank in hosting this event listed online: “First National Bank’s Annual Women in the Workforce Event objective has always been to empower, motivate, and inspire Working Women. We continue to do this by inviting powerful women speakers to share personal stories at our events.”
