Janice Lannette Lambert Kelly was born on June 10, 1941, in Bainbridge, Ga., the daughter of Maston Wesley Lambert and Hazel Pollock Lambert. She married the love of her life, Charles Edward Kelly, on Valentine’s Day in 1959. Lannette was employed for 25+ years at Ithaca Sewing Factory in Whigham, Ga., and for 5+ years with Bainbridge Memorial Hospital as part of the cafeteria staff. She was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church where she served faithfully.

Lannette enjoyed baking, canning, and quilting. She stitched love into all her quilts and made one for each of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. During the summer she always canned vegetables and made jelly and pickles to share with her family. Lannette’s special talent was baking. The most requested was her pound cake and Queen Anne cake. She was very compassionate and often shared her cakes with neighbors and friends in the Climax Community. Lannette was an excellent southern cook and always made plenty for everyone to enjoy.
