Cristy Lyn Sermons was born June 10, 1950, in McPherson, Kan., the daughter of Russell & Norma Jean Scheikofsky Sermons. She was a high school graduate and worked for many years as a fruit and vegetable broker. Cristy spent most of her life in Winter Haven, Fla., moving to Bainbridge just a few years ago. She was a Christian by faith.
Cristy had a million-dollar smile that often gave her the advantage in “selling ice to Eskimos”. She enjoyed music and dancing. When the lyrics told a story, her movements were like turning the pages of the book, and she left herself live in the moment. Outdoors was always her favorite place, and fishing was a favorite pastime. Her girls, grands, and great-grands will forever cherish the memories of time spent together.
Survivors include her children, Sheila & Tony Farrow, Shelly & Jeff Hamm, Jennifer & Chris Purdy, and Brandon & Shannon Mullis; her siblings, Lynda Howell (roger), Sherri McBee (Bobby), Randy Sermons, Nicky Sermons (Pam), Eddie Sermons, and Lindy Sermons (Sharon); her sister-in-law, Cheryl Thompson (Chuck); her sixteen grandchildren; her seven great-grandchildren; a special nephew, James Davis (Kathy); a special friend, Feliscia Carroll; and a large extended family. In addition to her parents, Cristy was preceded in death by her husband, Larry F. “Bo” Mullis; her children, Shannon Jones & Rebecca Joyner; her grandchildren, Charlie Taylor & Stephen Taylor; and her siblings, Ricky Sermons & Barbara Nelson.
The Mullis Family extends their sincere appreciation for the kindness and compassion of Gentiva Hospice with extra special thanks to Joanna, Twilla, and Shanda.
