Ronnie Steve Thomas was born October 28, 1949, in Bainbridge, Ga., the son of Frank, Sr. and Nannie Eaton Thomas. He attended Climax High School and Bainbridge High School. Ronnie married Virginia Harrell in 1968, and they made their home in Climax. He owned Thomas Tractor & Power Unit Repair and was a member of Climax Baptist Church.

Faith, family, feathers, and, of course, his Ford 5000 tractor… Ronnie was all about these things. He had a strong faith and work ethic. He enjoyed spending time at his cabin on the lake and cut a few feathers between there and the dove field. Ronnie was that guy who could fix anything. He loved to know what made things move. When things didn’t move, he was up to the challenge and usually had them motoring on in no time flat. Family was the center of his life and knew without a doubt his love for them was unconditional.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Virginia Thomas; his children, Steve & Angie Thomas of Cairo, Robbie Thomas of Whigham, and Joey & Amy Thomas of Climax; his grandchildren, Jessica, Brooke, Ashley, Brandon, Ty, Bailey, and Carter; his great-grandchildren, Cannon and Finnley; his siblings, Wayne Thomas (Jackie), Lois Fletcher, and Sheila Rentz; and a large extended family. In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his siblings, Frank Thomas, Jr., Jackie Thomas, Frances Gray, and Geraldine Holden.
