Debra Sue Grubbs was born January 11, 1958, in Bainbridge, Ga., the daughter of Joe, Sr. & Mattie Mae Lewis Grubbs. She attended Bainbridge High School and lived her entire life in Decatur County. In 1992, Debra married Herman Mills. She was a member of Eldorendo Holiness Church.
Coming from a large family, Debra knew the value of “the more the merrier” and enjoyed every minute spent with her family and friends. She didn’t really know how to cook for a few so there was always plenty to share. Debra canned vegetables, loved to fish, and spoiled her grandchildren every chance she got. Travel plans were constantly on her mind; if you said “adventure”, Debra said, “I’m in!”
Survivors include her husband of 29 years, Herman E. Mills; her children, Dusty & Lauren Brogdon of Cataula, Ga., Rusty & Brandi Brogdon of Climax, and Jason & Bridget Mills of Wewahitchka, Fla.; her grandchildren, Jalyn, Erin, Carley, Chloe, Maddie, Walker, Drake, and Mason; her siblings, Marion (Lennis) Grubbs, Bobby (Jane) Grubbs, Jackie (Diane) Grubbs, David (Linda) Grubbs, Joe (Elaine) Grubbs, Mary Williams, and Rita (Rawleigh) Furney; and a host of extended family. In addition to her parents, Debra was preceded in death by her brothers, Donald Grubbs and Danny Grubbs.
Bryant Funeral Home, located at 105 N. Florida Street, is assisting the family with arrangements. (229-246-3321)
