Milton Rogers Braswell was born November 7, 1939, in Donalsonville, Ga., the son Eddie & Nora Murkerson Braswell. He came to know the Lord at age 35, and his life was forever changed. Milton was a poultry farmer and farming was life for him. He pastored Cedar Springs Pentecostal Church where he retained his membership after retirement.

Milton was a kind and gentle soul. He had a wide scope of friends built on the foundation of his favorite question: Do you need anything? His desire to be the hands and feet of Jesus to others bridged the gap from acquaintance to family friend for most. Rarely was he upset or angry reminding us all there really was nothing productive about a hissy fit. Milton was the Papa who loved family gatherings, grilling steaks, ice cream & ice cream cakes (for any occasion or no occasion), and porch sitting. He enjoyed the sights and sounds of nature over his morning coffee. Milton had a knack for growing citrus, canning peaches, putting up peas, and of course, sharing with others. He was only dangerous if left unattended with RoundUp. “The Girls” provided Papa immeasurable joy and much material for sermons.

Survivors include his wife, Francanna B. Braswell; his grandchildren, Bridget & Steven Schwartz, Stephanie & Patrick Harrity, and Chelsy & Josh Trawick; his great-grandsons, Brayden & Aiden; his brother, Tommy Braswell; his daughter, Frankijo Martin; several nieces & nephews; his dog (who doesn’t realize she is a dog), Dixie; and his adopted neighborhood family. In addition to his parents, Milton was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Betty Ann Mock Braswell; his children, Roger, Debby & Beverly; and his brothers, Gary Braswell and Billy Braswell.
