Kenneth Douglas Markham, age 56, of Bainbridge, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, July 19th, 2022, in Thomasville, Ga. Ken was born December 27, 1965, in Denham Springs, Louisiana, the son of Jack Dempsey Markham and Jettie Markham. He was a Bainbridge resident for 35 years.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

Ken loved working with jewelry and became a Master Jeweler and a Graduate Gemologist. He was a graduate of Paris Junior College and the Gemological Institute of America. He owned and operated Kres Jewelers in Bainbridge from 1992 until present. Ken was a very gifted and talented designer and adorned many customers with his custom creations. Ken loved his community and previously served on the boards of Habitat for Humanity and United Way. He enjoyed the Bainbridge Lions Club where he served as President for two terms and was a recipient of the Melvin Jones Award. Ken was locally known for his musical talents and was a gifted guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter.

Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Cindy Lee Markham; children, Andrea Burgess (Anthony) of Doerun, Ga., and Aaron Markham (Erin) of Bluffton, S.C.; mother, Jettie Markham; grandchildren, Matilda, Henryk, Juliet, Caitlin, Preston, Kiera, and Logan; siblings, Wayne Markham (Mary), Jackie Lee, and Lisa Coleman (Rusty); numerous nieces and nephews; numerous great-nephews; and one great-niece.

Ken was preceded in death by his father.
