Mary Frances Griffin was born August 21, 1952, in Climax, Ga., the daughter of Maril and Hazel Harrison Griffin. She attended Climax High School. Mary married Byron Botdorf in 1972, and they made their home in Southwest Georgia. She was Baptist by faith.

Mary loved beautiful things, from the flowers in her garden to the fabulous antiques she acquired. She was quite a shopper, frequenting yard sales and blue light specials. She knew how to work a deal and NEVER paid full price for an item. Her charm and debonair almost always guaranteed she would win the negotiation. Though Mary enjoyed shopping and such, she didn’t mind getting dirty. She kept the soil tilled in her garden and smiled as plants bloomed under her care.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Byron O. Botdorf; her sons, John M. Botdorf (Mimi) of Maryland and Kevin Botdorf of Albany, Ga.; her grandchildren, Crysta and Lance; and a host of extended family. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her brothers, John Allen “Radar” Griffin, M.W. “Griff” Griffin, and Vernon Griffin.
