Carolyn Faye Jones, age 85, of Bainbridge, Georgia, passed away Friday, April 15, 2022.

The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Chris Humphries officiating with Honorary Pallbearers: Matthew McIntosh, Jacob McIntosh, Jonathan McIntosh, Brandon Martin, and Benjamin Haley.  A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 19th, 2022, beginning at 2:00 pm in Antioch United Methodist Church Cemetery in Adel, Ga.

The family will have a time of visitation from 9:30 am until 10:00 on the day of the service.

Carolyn was born Wednesday, October 7, 1936, in Valdosta, Georgia the daughter of Aaron Levi Griffis and Estey Griffis.  She graduated from Valdosta High School with the class of 1954.  Carolyn was the loving and devoted wife to her late husband, James Marvin Jones for almost 60 years.  She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Bainbridge, Ga.  She served in the choir, on several committees, and was an active member of the Lydia Sunday School Class.  She was a member of Gideon’s International Auxiliary and participated in the Saints Alive Choir.

Survivors include children, Sharon Rena Chase (Danny) of Maryville, Tenn., and Lisa Gayle Spencer (Michael) of Gaffney, S.C.; grandchildren, Matthew W. McIntosh, Jacob J. McIntosh (Brittney), Jonathan L. McIntosh (Monique), Natalie J. Martin (Brandon), and Sarah A. Haley (Benjamin); 8 great-grandchildren; loving sister-in-law, Linda C Jarrell (Ron); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, James Marvin Jones; parents; brother, Emory Levi Griffis; sister, Helen Griffis Bailey; and great-grandson, Koda Winter Haley.
