Pamela Elaine Powell was born September 9, 1962, in Decatur, Ga., the daughter of Ralph & Jane Molder Powell. She was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1980. She earned an associate degree in dental hygiene from Albany Junior College and an associate degree in marketing & management from Bainbridge Junior College. Pam cared for patients in southwest Georgia for over 30 years as a dental hygienist. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church where she served in many roles, most recently as the Contemporary Worship Coordinator.
Pam’s organization earned her the title “chaos coordinator” on many fronts. She handled her patients, her business, her family, and events she was involved in with a strong eye for details. She was very professional in her practice and loved her patients as friends. Pam had a gentle spirit coupled with a stubborn streak. Those that knew her well, knew not to argue…it was Pam’s way if it was important to her. She was the epitome of a quiet disciple and worked behind the scenes as the hands and feet of Jesus.
Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Greg Burch; her children, Sarah & Chad White of Winterville, Ga., and John & Allie Burch of Athens, Ga.; her grandson, Sam; her mother, Jane Powell; her siblings, Mike Powell of Dahlonega; Bill & Carol Powell, and David & Diane Powell, all of Bainbridge; her mother-in-love, Mary Burch; her sister & brother-in-law, Terri & Jackie Fleetwood; and a host of extended family. Pam was preceded in death by her father, Ralph E. Powell.
