As Grace Christian Academy administrators prepared for the 2021-2022 school year, they realized that the private school had outgrown the current campus. The administration and board began trying to find an answer and acquired a piece of property in the center of Bainbridge. This property was previously a Christian school. The group immediately went to work, with the help of students and parents to create a new space for students to practice sports and an education wing.
“This project has been in the works for about seven months now, and it would not have been possible without the hard work of our Board of Directors, faculty, and staff,” said Executive Director of School Cile Warr.
This past Monday, GCA opened the new campus known as the GCA East campus. Currently, the East Campus will house practice for junior pro and middle school basketball teams, along with the GCA Wrestling team. The campus is also the new home to the smallest Cougars, the GCA Preschool. Board President Melinda Glenn said, “I am incredibly excited about Grace Christian Academy expanding its preschool and opening this new East Campus.”
Thanks to this recent acquisition, K3 and K4 students will have more room to grow. The new facility has several classrooms, a library, an art room, a room with play centers, a lunchroom, and a space for activities such as, physical education and school programs. The new campus also has a playground with a Noah’s Ark playset. Glenn also stated, “When we designed and updated this facility, we wanted to make it a special place for our youngest students and their particular needs.”
Warr and Glenn finished by saying that God continues to bless GCA and their families. The duo is excited about the future of GCA with the addition of this new property and the athletic fields that athletes will begin using in the Fall of 2022.
