“Both sides of the ball fought for it tonight,” Coach Lance Godwin told the Post-Searchlight. “It was a big region win for us, you know, that was a must-win. We’ll see that team again in the region tournament, but it was a big win. That puts us at a higher seed going into the region tournament, so that was really good for our program.”
He expressed some need for improvement, saying, “We learned some stuff tonight on watching a girl drive, so we’ve got to play a little better defense.”
The Lady Cougars went on to face off against Chess Academy in Tifton Monday afternoon, winning 61-28, and traveled to Dothan to play Wiregrass Christian Academy Tuesday afternoon. Their next home game will be against Robert F Munroe on Thursday, starting at 6:00 p.m..
