Stacey was born August 13, 2020, in Thomasville, Ga., the son of Levi and Lauren Strickland Newberry. Words from Lauren: Peter Pan is a boy who flies off to Neverland and never grows up. The day Stacey was born was nothing short of magical. God’s hands were there in every moment of this baby’s life. I saw God’s grace when he and his brother were playing, and Stacey would get upset at K.T.

but Stacey would forgive him instantly. I saw every minute of every second of this baby’s life. Such a happy baby, all the time. Everything about him that I could possibly tell anyone translates to “a perfect life”. Who gets to say they rocked their baby to sleep every night of their life? There is only one person I trust more than myself with my baby & that is God, and that’s just who is taking care of him now. Stacey was always an angel, from the day he took his first breath.

Survivors include his parents; his brother, K. T. Newberry; his maternal grandparents, Stacey and Becky Strickland of Climax, Ga.; his paternal grandparents, Scott and Joanna Newberry of Whigham, Ga.; his maternal great-grandparents, Roger and Jennie Strickland of Climax, Ga., and Wonde McConnell of Bainbridge, Ga.; his paternal great-grandparents, Howard and Nellie Newberry of Whigham, Ga. and Phil and Shirley Dunaway of Cairo, Ga.; his aunt, Ashley Newberry of Whigham, Ga.; and his uncle, Conner Strickland of Climax, Ga. He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandfather, Jimmy McConnell.
