Memorial Hospital and Manor is pleased to recognize the generosity of First Port City Bank, which donated $100,000 through Georgia HEART’s Rural Hospital Tax Credit Program. The donation brings the total amount given to Memorial Hospital and Manor the program by First Port City Bank since program inception to $261,207. Local market leaders from First Port City Bank presented the check on Tuesday.

“We’re committed to expanding the continuum of care and providing safe, affordable access to care—allowing people to keep their care local,” says Memorial Hospital and Manor’s CEO Jim Lambert. “It takes many helping hands to sustain a growing healthcare organization. We appreciate First Port City Bank for their continued leadership by supporting quality healthcare in our community.”

Since 2019, First Port City Bank has supported Memorial Hospital and Manor through the Georgia HEART program. “The financial contributions through the Georgia HEART program further Memorial Hospital and Manor’s mission to provide quality health care for not only our community, but surrounding communities as well” says Scott Ewing, President of First Port City Bank. “We are thrilled to be able to provide these much-needed funds to enhance rural Georgia hospitals, and especially proud to be able to support Memorial Hospital and Manor in their desire and dedication to serve our community.”

The Georgia HEART team helps rural hospitals administer the Georgia Rural Hospital Income Tax Credit. The Tax Credit encourages individuals and businesses to support rural hospitals, while donors receive a 100% State Income Tax Credit. Many donors also receive a federal deduction.

First Port City Bank representatives joining Mr. Scott Ewing for the presentation were Marvalynn Carroll, Executive Vice President. Representatives from Memorial Hospital and Manor were Lauren Harrell, Director of Development; Lee Harris, COO; Jim Lambert, CEO; Glennie Bench, Hospital Authority Board Chairperson; CEO Lori Eubanks, CNO; Dr. Matthew Buck, Chief of Staff; and Dave Paugh, CFO
