Mancy Pearl Shoupe Spooner, age 85, of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away Friday, July 30, 2021.
The funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ellis Hardwick, Pastor James Williamson, and Pastor Josh Boyett officiating. The family received friends immediately following the service. Interment was at Sylvania Cemetery. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com.
Pearl was born September 15, 1935 in Marianna, Fla., the daughter of Evie and George Blackmon. She lived in Bainbridge for 21 years and was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She attended the Assembly of God Church in Chattahoochee before that. She retired after 30 years of service as a psychiatric Aid from Florida State Hospital. Pearl loved listening to gospel music, visiting her family, cooking and crocheting. One of her favorite hobbies was traveling around to attend gospel sings.
Survivors include her son, David Shoupe of Altha, Fla.; sister, Violet Ray; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pearl was preceded in death by her husbands, Wilbur Patrick Shoupe and Frank Monroe Spooner; brothers, Oscar Blackmon, Aubrey Blackmon and Charles Blackmon; half-sister, Amie Lula Alday; and her parents.
