James (Jimmy) H. Long, 57, of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away Monday, March 29, 2021.
The graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Black Jack Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Dean and Rev. Ron Kirkland officiating. Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing of six feet and/or wear protective masks in accordance with the State of Georgia guidelines.

Jimmy was born July 23, 1963 in Albany, Ga., the son of Thomas Peacock Long Sr. and Linda NeSmith Long. He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, class of ‘81, and attended Bainbridge College. He moved to Huntsville, Alabama in 1987, where he lived for 20 years before coming home to Bainbridge in 2009. Jimmy was a handyman by trade and did maintenance and home repair for most of his life. His favorite hobbies were fishing, cooking, watching sports, and spending time with his grandson. He was loved by many and had an easy-going personality, making friends anywhere he went.
Survivors include, his mother, Linda Long, of Bainbridge, Ga.; the love of his life for 30 years, Rebecca Black-Long, of Huntsville, Ala.; his son, Codie Long, and his wife, Morgan, of Huntsville, Ala.; his grandson, Jayden Long of Bainbridge, Ga.; his step-daughters, Angela and Sarah of Huntsville, Ala.; his step-grandchildren, Mitchell, Meleah, and Emelie of Huntsville, Ala.; his brothers, Tommy Jr. of Jamestown, California, and French Long of Eastman Georgia. He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Thomas P. Long, Sr.
